Honors Algebra 2

This course reviews and extends the topics of beginning algebra: linear equations and inequalities, absolute value, quadratic inequalities, roots and exponents, and systems of equations. Other topics include: exponential and logarithmic functions, conic sections, and arithmetic and geometric sequences. ​

Weekly Live Class

Weekly live Zoom meeting meets every Monday, 8 am to 9 am PST. (11 am to 12 pm EST) Class will run from Aug 26, 2024 through early May 2025. Breaks to be determined.

Cost

Early Bird Special: $599. After June 30: $650.

Prerequisite

All students should have successfully completed Algebra I and Geometry. â€‹

Course Delivery

A. Online platform. Students access class materials on Canvas, MyLab and College Board AP Classroom any time most convenient for them. All class materials are available 24/7. 

  • Teacher produced video lectures for each section. 

  • Weekly assignment, chapter tests and exams

 

B. One optional live Zoom session per week with the instructor that focus on key concepts and challenging assignments. Attendance is optional and recording will be made accessible for those who cannot attend.

Textbook

Intermediate Algebra by Margaret L. Lial, John Hornsby. 13th edition. 

You will need to purchase the ebook that gives you access to MyLab Math for the online HW, quizzes and tests.  You don't need to purchase a physical book. If you want one, you can purchase a used textbook online or from my past students.

Instruction will be sent out after registration.

 

Technical Requirements

  • Computer, high-speed internet access, e-mail capability, with camera

  • Smartphone or scanner to save multiple handwritten pages as a single PDF file

  • Graphing calculator – TI-89, TI-Nspire, or TI-83/84 Plus â€‹â€‹
